The sunrise was absolutely radiant for my session with Kris and Katherine. We got there early and warmed up by taking some photos while it was still dawn. By the time the sun was shining the two of them were comfortable and just having fun.
Not that I wasn't posing them, but I like to give prompts and then let it unfold naturally. I would tell Kris to squeeze Katherine and whisper in her ear or put them in a pose and then create movement. Whatever felt playful and natural to them as a couple.
These two loved the sea and spent a lot of time outdoors together so playing in the sand and kissing under the palms came effortlessly.
As they walked along the beach hand in hand, Kris found the biggest most beautiful shell and said he wanted to keep it. I took the idea and ran with it... Let's put the engagement ring in the seashell and take photos of it!!
Now it can be a part of their story, a keepsake of our morning and their romantic engagement.
After an hour of hanging on the beach, we ended the session under the palms and in a sea grape canopy. It was time to call it quits, I had SOO many amazing pictures I was stoked about!
I surprised them with Jupiter donuts and we ate and chatted about their wedding coming in September – I cannot wait to shoot it!
I got to know the couple, and shoot their love in a real and authentic way. I am really proud of this session.
